Many years ago, I watched a "futuristic’ movie. It may have been prophetic
in nature, God many times will speak to us even thru sci-fi movies. The place was New York City, sometime in the future. Rather, it was what was left of a once grand jeweled city, the envy of the entire world. The city streets had long turned to rubble. Deprivation was everywhere. There were only the large masses of impoverished human beings, (at least they appeared to be human), living on sidewalks or packed into abandoned automobiles and soggy cardboard boxes. The more fortunate ones of what had once been considered a "middle-class" now shared old apartments in run down buildings with other strangers. Two or three families to an apartment. It was unclear as to how these people were able to obtain nourishment or provision of any kind. "The elderly had long disappeared. They had been declared a social burden to the "system". You couldn’t see very many children either..." Then they were the "uppers". The extravagantly privileged attending their never ending parade of activities; parties; events; and weekend holidays. They lived in another part of town not traveled by nor accessible to the other classes. The "uppers" were a little bit disturbed by the fact that not everyone could share their status, but oh well, "c’st la vie!" I never finished the movie. It was too depressing and bordering on the morbid to view any further. Science fiction you say? "Today Being A Millionaire is A Necessity, Not A Luxury!" Your mindset that says, "well, I just want the Lord to bless us with just enough to get by", - is not going to hack it Saint ! Welcome to the End-Times Saints! In the Latter Days, few shall survive economically, (or any other way either!) The poor will get more poor and even most of the rich in the end will loose it all - one way or another. Such is the fate of the world system. " Pay attention to this if you're rich. Cry and moan about the misery that is coming to you " James 5:1 "Then the kings of the earth, the important people, the generals, the rich, the powerful, and all the slaves and free people hid themselves in caves and among the rocks in the mountains."
